Part descriptions
Simple Gills
Layered, feathery membranes that let a creature breathe underwater.
Good for: water-breathing items (minor fit).
Young Combustion Gland
A throat gland that throbs with glowing heat; it brews the fluid behind a dragon’s breath.
Use: swallow it (action) and make a DC 12 Constitution save. Failure – you take 2d10 fire damage. Success – you breathe fire in a 15-foot cone; each creature there makes a DC 12 Dexterity save, taking 4d10 fire damage on a failure or half on a success.
Good for: breath and fire items.
Young Frailbreath Sac
A sac from beside a dragon’s lungs, full of glittering yellow gas that saps strength.
Use: throw it and it bursts into a 10-foot-radius cloud that seeps through gaps and around corners. Each creature in it makes a DC 16 Strength save or has disadvantage on Strength attacks, checks and saves for 1 minute (save again at the end of each of its turns).
Good for: items that sap Strength or weaken attacks (minor fit).
Young Gold Draconic Blood
Dark-gold dragon blood with a faint arcane spark in it.
Use: can replace the magic ink for copying spells into a spellbook – it covers up to 25 gp of ink.
Good for: scrolls (minor fit).
Young Gold Draconic Heart
A golden, leathery dragon heart with a dim glow – said to hold the dragon’s pride and might.
Use: eat it (action) and make a DC 12 Wisdom save. Success – you can’t be frightened for 1 hour.
Good for: items that cause or resist fear, and dragon-themed items (minor fit).

Actions
Multiattack. The dragon makes three Rend attacks. It can replace one attack with a use of Weakening Breath.
Rend. Melee Attack Roll: +10, reach 10 ft. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) Slashing damage.
Fire Breath (Recharge 5–6). Dexterity Saving Throw: DC 17, each creature in a 30-foot Cone. Failure: 55 (10d10) Fire damage. Success: Half damage.
Weakening Breath. Strength Saving Throw: DC 17, each creature that isn’t currently affected by this breath in a 30-foot Cone. Failure: The target has Disadvantage on Strength-based D20 Tests and subtracts 3 (1d6) from its damage rolls. It repeats the save at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success. After 1 minute, it succeeds automatically.
